Besiktas are showing significant interest in acquiring Juventus midfielders Arthur Melo and goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio, according to reports in Italy. The Turkish club, emboldened by financial resources similar to those recently seen in the Saudi Pro League, are actively exploring options to bolster their squad with players from top European clubs.
Beyond previously reported interest in Dusan Vlahovic, Besiktas have identified Arthur as a potential target. The Brazilian international recently returned from a loan spell at Gremio but is reportedly surplus to requirements at Juventus, and may be available on a free transfer. Vincenzo Italiano, the current manager of Besiktas, previously coached Arthur during the 2023-2024 season at Fiorentina and is keen to reunite with the player.
Juventus are reportedly eager to offload Arthur, whose time in Turin has been considered costly and unproductive. The club would likely welcome a free transfer to avoid further financial burden. While Douglas Luiz was also considered, he did not garner the same level of interest as Arthur.
Di Gregorio, currently playing for an unnamed club, has also emerged as a potential target for Besiktas. However, the club are hesitant to meet the reported €15 million asking price for his services. Alexander Nubel, currently at Bayern Munich, remains their preferred option in goal, having also been a target for Juventus in the past. Besiktas are assessing whether a deal for Di Gregorio can be negotiated to a more acceptable figure.
This potential double raid on Juventus highlights Besiktas’s ambition to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming season. The moves would offer Arthur a fresh start and provide Besiktas with experienced players in key positions. The outcome of these negotiations remains uncertain, particularly concerning Di Gregorio’s valuation, but the interest is concrete and developing.
