Borussia Dortmund lower asking price for Karim Adeyemi to €50m
Borussia Dortmund have reduced their asking price for forward Karim Adeyemi to €50 million, according to a report from German publication Sport Bild. The club had previously valued the 22-year-old at around €60 million.
Adeyemi has fallen down the pecking order at Signal Iduna Park and is no longer considered a guaranteed starter. With his contract running until 2027, a sale this summer is seen as a viable option for all parties. The report indicates Adeyemi himself is keen on a move to the English Premier League.
The potential transfer fee would provide a significant boost to the budget of new sporting director Ole Book. Sport Bild suggests Dortmund currently has approximately €25 million allocated for transfer fees and a further €20 million for salaries ahead of the summer window.
Adeyemi joined Dortmund from RB Salzburg in 2022 for a fee reported to be around €30 million. While he has shown flashes of his explosive pace and talent, his form has been inconsistent, leading to a reduced role this season. His departure would be part of a wider potential squad reshuffle, with several other Dortmund players, including Nico Schlotterbeck and Julian Ryerson, also linked with moves away.
The lowered valuation reflects both his current standing at the club and the broader market, potentially making a deal more accessible for interested suitors, particularly from England.
