Milan owner Gerry Cardinale made a visible return to the club’s training facilities at Milanello on Monday, coinciding with the arrival of new signing Gonçalo Ramos and a flurry of transfer discussions. Cardinale arrived by helicopter, a method reminiscent of former owner Silvio Berlusconi, and spent the day meeting with manager Ruben Amorim and the club’s leadership team.
Cardinale’s presence underscores a commitment to a more hands-on approach to the club’s operations, a shift from the more distant ownership of previous years. He held discussions with Amorim regarding further transfer activity, both potential incomings and outgoings, and personally greeted Ramos upon the Portuguese forward’s arrival at Milanello. Ramos, who completed his move to Milan earlier this week, is the club’s most expensive signing in its history.
The day’s activity wasn’t limited to welcoming new faces. According to reports, several players could be on their way out of the club. Pervis Estupinan is attracting interest from Aston Villa, who see the Ecuadorian as a replacement for Lucas Digne, recently transferred to Paris Saint-Germain for a reported €9 million. His agent, Jorge Mendes, is reportedly working to facilitate the move.
Further interest from the English Championship has emerged, with Coventry City potentially making a move for Fikayo Tomori, while Frank Lampard’s side have enquired about Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Both Tomori and Loftus-Cheek had reportedly hoped to extend their contracts with Milan, but a sale now appears more likely. Watford have also expressed interest in Jean-Pierre Bondo, and Monza have made an enquiry regarding Filippo Terracciano. Cardinale is expected to maintain a regular presence in Milan, particularly during home matches, signaling a new era of engagement with the club and its supporters.
