Chelsea have been alerted to the potential availability of Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri, with the Gunners reportedly willing to consider bids around €46 million (£40m) for the 19-year-old, according to CaughtOffside. Nwaneri has struggled for consistent playing time this season, both with Arsenal and during his loan spell at Marseille, and has faced criticism in France for a perceived lack of effort.
Arsenal are considering a sale to generate “pure profit” despite recognising Nwaneri’s talent. Chelsea previously expressed interest in the academy product last summer, and the club is now revisiting the possibility of a move. Nwaneri progressed through the Arsenal youth system and has made a handful of senior appearances for the club.
Meanwhile, Chelsea target Kerim Alajbegovic is favouring a transfer to AS Roma this summer, reports Corriere dello Sport. The 18-year-old Bosnia and Herzegovina international has recently been re-signed by Bayer Leverkusen from RB Salzburg, but the Bundesliga club are open to an immediate sale for a significant profit. Alajbegovic enjoyed a successful season in Austria, attracting attention from several clubs, including Roma, who have been actively pursuing his signature.
Former Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic has reportedly acted as an intermediary in the deal. Alajbegovic has reportedly indicated his willingness to join Roma, however, Leverkusen are seeking a fee of €30m, which Roma may struggle to match.
AC Milan face a risk of losing Strahinja Pavlovic to the Premier League if they fail to qualify for the Champions League, as per Gazzetta dello Sport. Chelsea have been linked with the €40m-rated Serbia international, who has become a key figure for Milan after a challenging first season. Milan are keen to retain Pavlovic, but their ability to do so may depend on securing Champions League football.
Sporting CP have set a price tag of €50 million for Maxi Araujo, according to A Bola, potentially deterring some Premier League interest. Chelsea and Tottenham have both been linked with the Uruguayan wing-back, with the Blues’ interest stemming from uncertainty surrounding Marc Cucurella and potential links back to Barcelona. Sporting CP acknowledge Araujo’s €80m release clause is unrealistic and are prepared to negotiate around the €50m mark.
