Chelsea Eye AC Milan's Pavlovic in Potential €40m Move
Chelsea have registered their interest in AC Milan defender Strahinja Pavlovic, according to reports from Italy. The Premier League club have reportedly made contact with the player's representatives regarding a potential summer move for the Serbian international.
According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, the Blues are keen on the 22-year-old centre-back, who has impressed in his second season at the San Siro after a difficult start. The 24-year-old has been a key figure in a much-improved defensive unit for the Rossoneri, attracting interest from several top clubs.
Milan are said to be reluctant to sell Pavlovic, who has developed into a key player for the club. However, a fee in the region of €40 million could be enough to persuade the Italian giants to part with the defender, who is under contract until 2028. A move would represent a significant profit for Milan, who signed the Serbian international from Red Bull Salzburg in 2023.
Chelsea's interest is part of a broader defensive reshuffle planned for the summer. The club is also monitoring 22-year-old OH Leuven defender Roggerio Nyakossi, the Swiss U21 captain, as a potential lower-cost option. The Blues face competition from Liverpool for the Swiss defender, who is expected to be available for under €10m this summer.
Meanwhile, a move for Barcelona's Fermin Lopez appears to be off the table. The Spanish midfielder, a target for Chelsea last summer, has publicly stated his desire to stay at Barcelona "forever," effectively ending any speculation of a move to Stamford Bridge. In Brazil, Chelsea's pursuit of Cruzeiro wonderkid Felipe Morais has also become more complicated after the 17-year-old signed a new contract with his club, which includes a €100 million release clause.
