Chelsea are reportedly the frontrunners to sign Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille, while a deal for Sporting CP winger Maximiliano Araujo is progressing rapidly. According to reports from A Bola in Portugal, Chelsea are in a strong position to secure Araujo’s signature.
Eighteen-year-old Bouaddi has attracted interest from several top European clubs following his impressive performances for Morocco at the recent World Cup. Real Madrid, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain have all been linked with the midfielder, but AS reports that Real Madrid have now entered the fray. Lille president Olivier Letang has publicly stated that a fee of €50 million would not be sufficient to prise Bouaddi away from the club, emphasizing the player’s extended contract until 2029 and his potential to become a key starter in a Champions League team. Bouaddi’s current Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) is listed at €48 million, with a range of €43.2 million to €52.8 million.
Araujo, a Uruguay international, has a release clause of €80 million, but Sporting are likely to accept a fee in the region of €60-70 million. The 24-year-old scored seven goals and provided six assists for Sporting across all competitions last season. His versatility, with the ability to play in defence, has led to speculation that Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso could view him as a potential replacement for Marc Cucurella, should Alonso implement a system utilizing wing-backs. Araujo’s ETV currently stands at €25.1 million, with a range of €22.6 million to €27.6 million.
Elsewhere, Liverpool have joined Manchester United in expressing interest in Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha, with TeamTalk reporting that both clubs are prepared to offer around €60 million for the Germany international. Despite recently signing a new contract with Dortmund, Nmecha’s representatives are reportedly open to exploring other opportunities. Real Madrid and Barcelona have also been linked with a move for the 23-year-old, whose ETV is currently valued at €55.9 million, ranging from €50.3 million to €61.5 million. These moves signal an active summer transfer window for several Premier League clubs as they look to strengthen their squads ahead of the new season.
These potential acquisitions reflect a broader trend of clubs investing in young, dynamic talent, with Bouaddi and Nmecha representing promising midfield options and Araujo offering versatility in wide areas. The competition for these players is fierce, suggesting a potentially busy and expensive summer for European football.
