Chelsea have registered their interest in signing Eduardo Camavinga from Real Madrid, according to a report in Sport. The move comes as the newly appointed Chelsea manager, Xabi Alonso, assesses potential squad reinforcements ahead of the 2026/27 season. Liverpool and Manchester United are also reportedly interested in the French midfielder.
Camavinga, 23, joined Real Madrid from Rennes in 2021 and is currently under contract at the Bernabéu until 2029. However, his recent form has been inconsistent, with injuries contributing to his omission from the France squad for the 2026 World Cup. This downturn in performance has reportedly led to a decrease in his market value, falling by €50 million to a current valuation of €50 million.
Despite interest from several Premier League clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, sources close to Camavinga indicate he is currently unwilling to leave Madrid. Fabrizio Romano recently stated that Camavinga wants to fight for his place at the club, despite acknowledging a difficult season hampered by injury and a lack of consistent playing time. Real Madrid are not actively seeking to sell the player, though they are not entirely closing the door to offers.
Chelsea’s interest is particularly noteworthy given Alonso’s arrival as manager in July. The former Madrid player is familiar with the club’s structure and players, potentially influencing his transfer targets. While Camavinga’s current stance is to remain in Spain, the situation could evolve depending on his role under new manager Jose Mourinho. The potential for increased competition for playing time could yet prompt Camavinga to reconsider his options, offering Chelsea a potential pathway to secure his signature.
