Chelsea are reportedly preparing a “decisive” move for Juventus defender Andrea Cambiaso, according to Italian publication Sportmediaset. The 26-year-old has emerged as a key target to fill the void left by Marc Cucurella’s departure to Real Madrid for a reported €55 million.
Chelsea are expected to submit an initial bid of €25 million, with a further €5 million in potential add-ons, though Juventus currently values Cambiaso closer to €40 million. The Italian club’s need to comply with UEFA financial regulations by selling players before the end of June may facilitate negotiations.
Meanwhile, Wesley Fofana’s future at Stamford Bridge appears uncertain. BBC Sport reports that Chelsea would require a €34.6 million fee to avoid recording a loss on the player’s transfer. With the anticipated arrival of a new centre-back, Fofana is not considered a guaranteed starter alongside Levi Colwill and could be part of a defensive clear-out alongside Trevoh Chalobah, Benoit Badiashile, Axel Disasi and Mamadou Sarr.
Serie A side Como, preparing for their first Champions League campaign, have expressed interest in Trevoh Chalobah. Managed by former Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas, Como are keen on the England international, whose contract at Chelsea expires in 2028. However, a significant gap remains in valuation, as Chelsea reportedly hold Chalobah in high regard, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Reports linking Chelsea with a move for Liverpool attacker Florian Wirtz have been dismissed by sources at Stamford Bridge, as stated by Football.London. Despite Wirtz’s previous success under Xabi Alonso, a reunion at Chelsea is not currently being pursued. Elsewhere, speculation continues regarding Enzo Fernandez, with reports in Spain suggesting Real Madrid would need to sell either Federico Valverde or Aurelien Tchouameni to fund a €120 million bid for the Chelsea midfielder. Lucas Bergvall has also informed Tottenham Hotspur of his desire to explore a move away, with Chelsea and Nottingham Forest both expressing interest in the Sweden international.
