Como have added Spanish defender Andres Cuenca and Swedish midfielder Adrian Lahdo to their squad ahead of the upcoming Serie A season, the club confirmed through various reports. Both players are seen as promising talents and will have the opportunity to develop under manager Cesc Fabregas.
Cuenca, 19, joins Como after a six-month loan spell at Sporting Gijon in the Spanish second division, where he was a regular starter when fit despite missing ten matches with a muscle injury. He is a product of Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy, even making a brief Champions League appearance for the club in October 2024. Como paid approximately €500,000 to secure his services, with Barcelona retaining a percentage of any future sale. Cuenca is described as a modern central defender, comfortable in possession and capable of playing out from the back.
Lahdo, 18, arrives for a reported €12 million fee from Hammarby, beating competition from Chelsea for his signature. He spent the latter half of last season integrating with both Como’s Primavera youth team and the first team. Fabregas views Lahdo as a dynamic, versatile midfielder with a knack for late runs into the box. The club has demonstrated their faith in the young Swede by offering him a long-term contract extending until 2031. Lahdo recently expressed his eagerness to make an impact, stating to Fotbollskanalen that he is working hard in pre-season and believes the club has confidence in his potential.
Currently, Como’s defensive options include Ramon, Kempf, and Goldaniga, though the latter is returning from a lengthy injury. In midfield, Milla has arrived to compete alongside Perrone and Da Cunha. With three competitions on the horizon, Fabregas expects to utilize squad rotation extensively, providing opportunities for both Cuenca and Lahdo to showcase their abilities. These signings signal Como’s commitment to developing young talent and building a competitive squad for their return to Serie A.
