Ivory Coast international Yan Diomandé has publicly expressed his admiration for Paris Saint-Germain, suggesting a move to the French capital would be a dream come true. The 19-year-old winger, currently at RB Leipzig, made the comments during a press conference ahead of his nation’s friendly against France.
Diomandé enjoyed a breakout season in the Bundesliga with Leipzig, registering 13 goals and 10 assists in 36 appearances. His impressive form has inevitably attracted attention from several top European clubs, and it appears increasingly likely he will not remain with the German side long-term, despite being under contract until 2030.
When questioned about potential destinations, Diomandé revealed a long-held affection for PSG, stating it’s a club he has “loved since childhood.” He also highlighted his father’s support for the Parisian club, adding a personal dimension to his interest. He further noted that adapting to French football would not be difficult, given his existing familiarity with the language.
However, this is not the first Premier League club Diomandé has publicly courted. Just weeks prior, the player indicated a strong desire to join Liverpool in a TikTok live stream, stating it would fulfill his father’s dream to see him play at Anfield. He claimed Liverpool had also expressed interest in securing his services.
While no formal offer has been made by either club at this stage, Diomandé’s public pronouncements will undoubtedly fuel speculation regarding his future. A move to PSG would provide him with a platform to compete at the highest level and potentially establish himself as one of Europe’s most exciting young talents. The winger’s versatility and goalscoring ability would be a valuable addition to the PSG squad as they look to maintain their dominance in Ligue 1 and challenge for Champions League success.
