Lohann Doucet has completed a permanent transfer from Paris FC to Portuguese Primeira Liga side Vitoria Guimaraes, the clubs confirmed on Tuesday. The 23-year-old midfielder joins Vitoria Guimaraes after spending the last six seasons with Paris FC, initially rising through their youth ranks following his formation at Nantes. Financial details of the transfer were not disclosed.
Doucet’s first-team opportunities at Paris FC had become limited following their promotion to Ligue 1. He featured in only five matches for the club during the first half of the 2023-24 season, leading to a loan spell at Dunkerque in Ligue 2 during the January transfer window. The move to Dunkerque proved beneficial for Doucet, allowing him to gain regular playing time and earn his first two international caps with Burkina Faso in June 2026.
The Nantes native made a total of 69 appearances for Paris FC across all competitions, becoming a regular fixture in the team prior to their ascent to the top flight. While he demonstrated promise during his time in the French capital, the increased competition for places prompted the search for a new challenge. Vitoria Guimaraes, who finished ninth in the Portuguese Primeira Liga last season, represents a new opportunity for Doucet to establish himself as a key player.
This move marks Doucet’s first experience playing outside of France, offering him the chance to test himself in a different league and further develop his career. Vitoria Guimaraes will hope Doucet can add creativity and energy to their midfield ahead of the upcoming season, while the player himself will be aiming to secure a regular starting role and continue his international progress with Burkina Faso. The transfer provides a fresh start for Doucet as he embarks on a new chapter in his career.
