Arsenal are nearing an agreement with Aston Villa for Morgan Rogers, with the player expected to sign a five-year contract at the Emirates Stadium, according to FootballTransfers. While personal terms are almost settled, the Gunners are preparing an initial bid that will likely fall short of Villa’s valuation, which is reported to be a British record fee for the 23-year-old.
The potential arrival of Rogers may be facilitated by the departure of Leandro Trossard, who is in talks with Turkish side Besiktas. Trossard’s agent, Dirk Hebel, is currently negotiating personal terms in Istanbul, with a club-to-club agreement already in place for a reported €18 million plus add-ons, as reported by Fabrizio Romano. The Belgian winger is reportedly hesitant to finalize the move while participating in a tournament.
Arsenal’s transfer activity isn’t limited to incoming and outgoing wingers. The club faces competition from Barcelona and Tottenham for Bournemouth forward Eli Kroupi, with the Cherries valuing the 20-year-old at over €100 million. Barcelona are considering Kroupi as an alternative to Julian Alvarez, while Tottenham are reportedly the most determined to secure his signature.
Further complicating Arsenal’s midfield plans, Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes has expressed a desire to move to the Emirates. According to David Ornstein, Guimaraes was encouraged by a previously rejected offer from Arsenal and is now actively seeking a transfer, with the Gunners prepared to pay around €70 million. Newcastle maintain that their captain is not for sale, echoing a similar situation with Alexander Isak last summer.
In defense, Arsenal are reportedly considering Aaron Wan-Bissaka as a potential replacement for Ben White, whose future at the club remains uncertain. Wan-Bissaka, recently relegated with West Ham, could be available due to the club’s need to reduce costs in the Championship. PSG winger Bradley Barcola has also been linked with a move to Arsenal, but former Chelsea player Marcel Desailly has advised the young Frenchman to remain in Paris to continue his development.
