Arsenal have been given the go-ahead by FC Midtjylland to pursue a transfer for winger Dario Osorio, according to the club’s technical director Kristian Kjaer. The Gunners previously expressed interest in the Chile international in 2025, but a deal failed to materialise. Arsenal are now revisiting their interest after Osorio enjoyed a productive season, scoring eight goals and providing ten assists in 49 appearances across all competitions.
The 26-cap international has also drawn attention from other Premier League clubs, including Bournemouth, with Kjaer acknowledging that selling players is a core part of Midtjylland’s business model. He highlighted Osorio’s suitability for the Premier League, praising his work rate, defensive contributions, and pace, even comparing him to former Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez.
Kjaer told The Evening Standard: “We know that Arsenal have been looking into Osorio, but we also know other clubs in the Premier League have done the same… He has the full package, seen as the next Alexis Sanchez in Chile. I can see him making a difference in the Premier League.” He further indicated that Midtjylland are open to offers, stating their ambition is to sell players to top leagues, particularly the Premier League.
Despite Kjaer’s openness to a sale, Arsenal’s pursuit of Osorio is not guaranteed. The club is reportedly close to agreeing a deal for Leicester City’s Jeremy Monga and are also interested in Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers and Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola. The futures of current Arsenal wingers Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard also influence their transfer strategy. Club Brugge’s Christos Tzolis is another player on their radar, suggesting Osorio may not be a priority, especially with the club aiming to compete for the Champions League title next season.
