Bayern Munich are poised to sign Nathaniel Brown from Eintracht Frankfurt after the defender arrived in Munich on Thursday to undergo a medical examination. The 23-year-old left-back was photographed entering the Barmherzige Brüder hospital, as reported by BILD FC Bayern, signalling the imminent completion of the transfer.
According to reports, Bayern will pay a fee of around €55 million for Brown, securing his services on a contract that will run until 2031. The deal had been agreed upon for some time, but was delayed due to Brown’s involvement with the national team at the recent World Cup, where their campaign ended in disappointment.
Brown has been a key player for Eintracht Frankfurt since joining the club, making a total of 75 appearances across all competitions. During his time in Frankfurt, he has scored seven goals and contributed 13 assists, establishing himself as one of the Bundesliga’s most promising left-backs. His performances have consistently drawn praise for his attacking contributions and defensive solidity.
Bayern’s pursuit of Brown comes as they look to strengthen their options at left-back following the departure of David Alaba in 2021 and ongoing questions about the long-term suitability of their current options. The acquisition of Brown provides a long-term solution in that position, offering both immediate quality and potential for further development under the guidance of Bayern’s coaching staff. This move will likely see Brown competing with Alphonso Davies for the starting role, creating a dynamic and competitive environment within the Bayern squad.
The transfer represents a significant outlay for Bayern, but reflects their ambition to maintain dominance in both the Bundesliga and European competitions. Eintracht Frankfurt will also benefit financially from the sale, allowing them to reinvest in their own squad and continue their project of establishing themselves as a top force in German football.
