Liverpool have opened talks with RB Leipzig over Ivorian winger Yan Diomande, with the Bundesliga club valuing him at €130m / £112.2m, according to David Ornstein. The potential arrival of Diomande could be paired with a move for Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain, as Liverpool seek to overhaul their attacking options following reported departures.
Diomande, who can play on either flank, has become a key target for Liverpool as they rebuild their forward line. Mohamed Salah’s exit, coupled with uncertainty surrounding the futures of Federico Chiesa and Cody Gakpo, has created a need for significant investment in wide areas. Fabrizio Romano reports that Liverpool are prepared to offer Diomande a substantial contract to beat competition from PSG.
Barcola’s situation at PSG is less secure, with limited regular starting opportunities due to competition from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Desire Doue and Ousmane Dembele. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has indicated a move for the 23-year-old France international is likely, posting a suggestive message on social media. Reporter Ben Jacobs has confirmed Liverpool are tracking Barcola alongside Diomande, and that PSG are now open to considering a sale if they strengthen their own attacking options.
The combined cost of acquiring both Diomande and Barcola is estimated to be around £198.5m, with Diomande valued at £112.2m and Barcola at £86.3m. Should both transfers be completed, Liverpool’s attacking quartet could consist of Barcola and Diomande on the wings, supported by Florian Wirtz in the number ten role and Alexander Isak leading the line. This new attacking setup would represent a total investment of £439.5m across four players.
