Fulham are set to submit a second offer to Bayern Munich for forward Jonas Kusi-Asare, after their initial bid of €3 million was rejected, according to the Bild podcast Bayern Insider. The Premier League club are keen to secure the 18-year-old on a permanent deal following a season-long loan spell at Craven Cottage.
Kusi-Asare joined Bayern Munich in January 2024 from Swedish side AIK for a reported fee of €3.5 million. He signed a contract with the German champions that currently has one year remaining. The move to Fulham represented his first experience of senior football outside of Scandinavia, though opportunities proved limited in the Premier League.
During his loan period, Kusi-Asare made 10 appearances for Fulham’s first team, failing to register a goal. He primarily featured in short cameos, finding it difficult to break into Marco Silva’s established attacking lineup. Despite the lack of goals, Fulham evidently see potential in the young forward, prompting them to pursue a permanent transfer.
Bayern Munich’s rejection of the initial offer suggests they value Kusi-Asare higher than €3 million, potentially due to his recent acquisition and remaining contract length. It is unclear what figure would tempt the Bundesliga giants to part ways with the player. Fulham’s second bid is expected to reflect a willingness to meet Bayern’s valuation, though the exact amount remains undisclosed.
Fulham have been relatively quiet in the transfer window thus far, focusing on strengthening areas of the squad deemed most critical. Securing Kusi-Asare would represent an investment in a young player with potential, adding depth to their forward options. Should a deal be agreed, Kusi-Asare will be hoping for more consistent playing time to develop his game in the Premier League.
