Hull City are reportedly interested in signing Josha Vagnoman from VfB Stuttgart this summer, though a potential deal is currently stalled over the terms of a transfer. Stuttgart are prepared to sell the 25-year-old right-back for a fee between €10 million and €15 million, according to Sport Bild, but have so far resisted Hull City’s preference for a loan arrangement.
Vagnoman joined Stuttgart from Hamburger SV in 2022 for a fee of €4.5 million and has become a regular fixture in the Bundesliga side, accumulating 124 competitive appearances. However, Sport Bild reports that his performances have been deemed inconsistent internally, leading Stuttgart to consider offers for the German international. The club are seemingly prioritizing a permanent sale to recoup a significant return on their initial investment.
Hull City, recently promoted to the Premier League, are seeking to bolster their squad ahead of their return to the top flight. The club’s interest in Vagnoman suggests they are targeting experience and quality in the full-back position. However, their initial approach of a loan deal appears to be misaligned with Stuttgart’s current intentions.
Vagnoman has also represented Germany at the international level, earning two senior caps. He primarily operates as a right-back, but is capable of playing in multiple positions across the defense. His versatility could be appealing to Hull manager Liam Rosenior as he builds a squad capable of competing in the Premier League.
Negotiations between the two clubs remain at a standstill, with Stuttgart unwilling to pursue a loan agreement at this stage. It remains to be seen whether Hull City will be able to adjust their offer to meet Stuttgart’s valuation, or if another club will emerge with a permanent bid for the player. Securing Vagnoman would represent a significant coup for Hull City as they prepare for the challenges of the Premier League.
