Borussia Dortmund are poised to generate approximately €158 million from player sales during the current transfer window, according to a report by FußballTransfers.com. Several first-team and fringe players are expected to depart Westfalenstadion as the club looks to reshape its squad and strengthen its financial position ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Julien Duranville is reportedly nearing a €8.5 million move to Olympique Lyon. The young Belgian winger joined Dortmund in January 2023 from Zulte Waregem, but has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter, making only 16 Bundesliga appearances for the club. The transfer will provide Duranville with an opportunity for more consistent playing time in Ligue 1.
Serhou Guirassy is another player attracting significant interest, with Dortmund seeking around €40 million for the striker. While Guirassy possesses a €35 million release clause, it is only applicable to certain top-tier clubs, meaning potential suitors such as Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur would need to meet Dortmund’s higher valuation. The Guinea international enjoyed a prolific season with VfB Stuttgart last campaign, scoring 28 Bundesliga goals.
Karim Adeyemi’s future at Dortmund is also uncertain following a relatively disappointing 2025-26 season where he managed only 10 goals. Valued at €50 million, Adeyemi could be sold despite having a contract that runs until the summer of 2027, though the club have not ruled out the possibility of a contract extension. The German international arrived at Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg in 2022, and initially showed promise.
Even Nico Schlotterbeck, who recently signed a new contract, could be on the move. His new deal includes a release clause in the range of €50-60 million for “dream clubs,” and Real Madrid have reportedly expressed interest in the centre-back. Schlotterbeck has become a key figure in Dortmund’s defence since joining from SC Freiburg in 2022, and his departure would represent a significant loss.
The potential sales would allow Dortmund to reinvest in the squad, addressing areas of weakness and potentially bringing in new talent to challenge for the Bundesliga title and compete effectively in the Champions League. The club’s proactive approach to player sales demonstrates a clear strategy for long-term financial stability and sporting success.
