Iliman Ndiaye has suggested a potential return to Olympique de Marseille, despite a previous unsuccessful spell with the club. The Everton forward stated he believes his career trajectory would have unfolded differently had he joined Marseille with Premier League experience under his belt.
Ndiaye spent two seasons with Marseille between 2023 and 2024 but failed to establish himself as a key player. He then moved to Everton, where he has since become a more prominent figure, attracting attention for his performances. Speaking to France Football, Ndiaye expressed strong conviction that his story with the club is not yet complete, stating he is “200%” sure the relationship isn’t finished.
The Senegal international reflected on the timing of his initial move to Marseille, suggesting that arriving after gaining experience in the Premier League would have yielded a different outcome. He alluded to a lack of maturity during his first stint with the French side, implying he wasn’t fully prepared for the demands of the club at that time.
Ndiaye was speaking ahead of Senegal’s World Cup match against France, adding context to his comments amidst international duties. While no formal offer or negotiations have been reported, his public expression of interest could signal a willingness to revisit the possibility of playing for Marseille in the future. The forward’s improved form with Everton has undoubtedly increased his value and appeal, potentially opening the door for a renewed approach from the Ligue 1 club.
This potential move could represent a second chance for Ndiaye to prove himself in France, while also offering Marseille a player who has demonstrably developed since his previous time at the club. His current form for Everton suggests he could be a valuable asset to Marseille’s attack.
