Inter are aiming to secure a €10 million fee for midfielder Akinsanmiro after Pisa’s planned €7.5 million purchase fell through due to a bureaucratic issue, according to reports in Italy. The Nerazzurri are not concerned by the breakdown in negotiations with the Tuscan club and believe they can still generate a significant profit from the 21-year-old’s sale.
Pisa were unable to exercise their option to buy Akinsanmiro following a loan spell, which had included a clause for a permanent transfer. Despite Pisa’s relegation from Serie A, Akinsanmiro impressed during his time at the club, particularly under former coach Alberto Gilardino, making 24 appearances in his first season in the Italian top flight. His availability has now attracted interest from multiple clubs.
Interest in Akinsanmiro is reportedly coming from two Bundesliga sides – Werder Bremen and Borussia Monchengladbach – as well as Serie A outfit Bologna. While a move to Germany currently appears more likely, Bologna are said to be admirers of the player’s qualities. The Rossoblu’s interest indicates a potential for Akinsanmiro to remain in Italy, though Inter are prioritizing offers that meet their valuation.
Inter youth coach Cristian Chivu, who previously worked with Akinsanmiro in the club’s academy, will closely monitor the player during pre-season training in July. However, the club are prepared to sell if a satisfactory offer is received, and any deal will include a buyback clause to ensure Inter retain control over the promising young talent. Inter are keen to continue developing and potentially re-integrating their promising youth players in the future.
