Inter Milan open talks for River Plate's Ian Subiabre amid Man City interest
Inter Milan have opened talks to sign River Plate winger Ian Subiabre, according to TEAMtalk, as they attempt to fend off rival interest from Manchester City and a host of other top European clubs. The 19-year-old Argentine is widely expected to leave his homeland in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Sources indicate that the Serie A side have made an early move to secure one of South America's most in-demand young talents. Subiabre, a versatile forward who primarily operates on the right wing, has made 34 senior appearances for River Plate, contributing three goals and three assists.
Manchester City and its wider City Football Group network have tracked Subiabre for several years and are expected to be serious contenders for his signature. The Premier League champions had previously shown interest during negotiations for fellow River Plate youngster Claudio Echeverri.
Interest in the teenager extends across Europe's major leagues. Chelsea have also held discussions, while Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United are monitoring his situation. In Italy, Juventus are also pushing for a deal, and clubs in Germany and Spain, including Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, and Atletico Madrid, have made enquiries.
Subiabre's technical quality and attacking versatility have made him a prime target for clubs focusing on long-term recruitment. With formal negotiations now underway, the competition for his signature is set to intensify in the coming weeks, offering the player multiple potential pathways to European football.
