Juventus are reportedly progressing with a move for Tottenham Hotspur forward Randal Kolo Muani, though the club remains in a period of overall transfer uncertainty according to reports in Italy. Negotiations have stalled somewhat, with no official communication from Juventus in the past week, leaving onlookers questioning the immediate direction of their summer business.
Kolo Muani endured a disappointing season with Tottenham, scoring only five goals in total, with a single Premier League strike in 29 appearances. This downturn in form led to his exclusion from Didier Deschamps’ France squad for the recent international tournament, a stark contrast to his near miss four years prior when a crucial save from Emiliano Martinez denied him glory. Despite this setback, Kolo Muani is keen on a return to Juventus, where he previously felt a strong connection.
The potential transfer fee for Kolo Muani is significantly lower than previous valuations, now estimated at half the €60 million Paris Saint-Germain were seeking last summer. PSG are reportedly willing to facilitate the move to accommodate the player’s wishes. Kolo Muani is said to be accepting of Juventus’ current situation, including the lack of Champions League football, prioritizing a return to a comfortable environment.
Juventus are also considering options to bolster their attack further, particularly dependent on the future of Dusan Vlahovic, with contract renewal talks postponed until the end of the season. Should Vlahovic not extend his stay, the club may turn to Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Garcia on a loan deal. The 22-year-old Garcia shares an age with former Juventus player Alvaro Morata upon his arrival at the club, and his potential move is contingent on the decision of Real Madrid manager José Mourinho. If Mourinho deems Garcia not ready for regular first-team football, a spell in Serie A could accelerate his development.
Kolo Muani’s arrival would likely be straightforward, but further reinforcements may depend on securing a loan agreement for a player like Garcia, providing additional depth to Juventus’ forward line.
