Juventus are not prioritizing the sale of defender Gleison Bremer this summer, despite having a release clause of €58 million, according to reports in Italy. While the club acknowledges that few players are truly untouchable, Bremer is not currently considered an expendable asset as they focus on other potential departures.
Former Juventus defender and coach Paolo Montero has publicly stated his belief that the club should retain Bremer, a sentiment seemingly shared by the current management. The club’s focus is on offloading other players, and no offers approaching the Brazilian’s release clause have yet been submitted to Juventus’s CEO, Giovanni Carnevali.
Reports suggesting the club would consider offers in the region of €40 million have been dismissed, with Juventus valuing Bremer closer to the €60 million mark. The recent World Cup has not increased Bremer’s market value, and the defender himself recently expressed his desire to win trophies, stating he is 29 years old and cannot wait any longer.
Bremer’s representatives have indicated a strong desire for the player to remain in Turin, and he has not actively sought a transfer. His comments about wanting to win are interpreted as motivation to succeed with Juventus, rather than a signal of intent to move elsewhere. However, Juventus would be open to considering offers from clubs capable of meeting both the financial demands and Bremer’s ambitions.
Alongside the lack of immediate plans to sell, Juventus are also exploring the possibility of extending Bremer’s contract, which currently runs until 2029. Discussions with the player’s representatives are anticipated, potentially focusing on an increase to his salary to bring it in line with other key players in the squad. Negotiations were previously stalled under the previous management, but the arrival of Carnevali offers a renewed opportunity for dialogue.
