Fiorentina have begun discussions with representatives of forward Moise Kean regarding a potential contract extension, according to reports from Italy. The club’s sporting director, Fabio Paratici, is expected to meet with Kean’s agent, Alessandro Lucci, to outline plans for the upcoming season.
Kean, 26, joined Fiorentina in 2024 and finished the recent season hampered by a persistent tibia issue. Despite the injury, the club and player are both reportedly keen to continue their association. Paratici and general director Alessandro Ferrari are scheduled to hold a press conference tomorrow to review the past season and preview the next, and Kean’s situation is expected to be a key topic.
Kean currently has a release clause of €62 million, valid between July 1st and July 15th, a figure increased following a prolific season prior to this one where he scored 25 goals. However, after a less impactful campaign, it is considered unlikely that any club will meet that valuation. Fiorentina are not anticipating offers exceeding €40 million, which would not be enough to convince them to sell.
The arrival of Fabio Grosso as Fiorentina’s new head coach is also a significant factor in Kean’s potential stay. Grosso previously worked with Kean during their time in Juventus’ youth system and views the Italy international as a key player in his 4-3-3 system. Grosso reportedly wants to build his attack around Kean, believing he can recapture the form that initially impressed Fiorentina supporters.
Kean is currently Fiorentina’s highest earner, with an annual salary of €4.5 million, and appears content in Florence, with no indication he is actively seeking a move. The positive relationship between Lucci and the club’s ownership, the Commisso family, further strengthens the likelihood of an agreement being reached.
