Leeds United are considering moves for both Juventus defender Lloyd Kelly and Wolves midfielder Ladislav Krejci as they look to bolster their squad ahead of the upcoming season, though a deal for Kelly appears unlikely at this stage. The club finished 14th in the Premier League last term and are backed by new owners 49ers Enterprises, who have ambitious plans for further improvement.
Leeds are aiming to bring in five to six new players this summer, targeting positions including goalkeeper, striker, central midfielder, and now a left-sided centre-half following the departure of Pascal Struijk to Brighton for an initial £15 million. Struijk’s exit was anticipated, with reports in April suggesting he was seeking a new challenge after eight years at Elland Road.
According to Inside Elland Road Podcast host Graham Smyth, while Leeds admire Kelly, who joined Juventus in May 2025 for €17.5 million, they are not currently pursuing him actively. Kelly is now valued in the region of €30 million. Smyth suggests that Krejci represents a more realistic target, particularly given Wolves’ recent relegation to the Championship.
Krejci initially joined Wolves on loan from Girona before making the move permanent for £26 million in July 2024, signing a contract through 2030. However, his potential sale is now considered likely as Wolves look to recoup funds. Sources indicate that Leeds are confident of securing a deal for the 29-cap Czech international, with the player himself reportedly keen on the move.
Leeds have also been linked with other centre-back options, including Burnley’s Maxime Esteve, Sporting CP’s Ousmane Dembele, and Real Betis’ Natan. The club recently agreed a four-year deal to sign Harry Wilson, with an announcement expected soon. Securing a suitable replacement for Struijk remains a priority as Daniel Farke looks to build upon last season’s success.
