Liverpool have made a contract offer to 17-year-old midfielder Andria Bartishvili, attempting to secure his signature ahead of Arsenal, according to reports from Geo Team cited by Liverpool site DaveOCKOP. The Georgian teenager currently plays for Iberia on loan from Kolkheti Poti, having previously been part of the Dinamo Tbilisi academy.
Bartishvili is described as a two-footed central attacking midfielder capable of playing on either wing. He has been gaining attention for his performances in Georgia, with some observers considering him the nation’s most promising talent since Khvicha Kvaratskhelia of Paris Saint-Germain. Scouts from both Liverpool and Arsenal recently observed Bartishvili in action during Iberia’s 3-2 victory over FC Flora in Champions League qualifying.
The report indicates that both clubs have presented identical contract offers to Bartishvili and his family, leaving the final decision with the player. Discussions regarding a potential move have been ongoing since June 22, with Liverpool, Arsenal, and Paris FC all reportedly working on deals for the youngster. Paris FC are attempting to entice Bartishvili with the promise of immediate first-team opportunities.
Liverpool have been actively investing in young talent in recent years, acquiring winger Rio Ngumoha from Chelsea in the summer of 2024, who has already made an impact on the first team. They also secured an agreement to sign centre-back Ifeanyi Ndukwe from Austria Vienna in January and recently added Scotland U16 captain Dara Jikiemi from Celtic. This pursuit of Bartishvili demonstrates a continued commitment to building for the future, alongside efforts to bring in established senior players. The competition for Bartishvili’s signature highlights his potential and could lead to a significant move for the young player.
