Liverpool have reportedly begun exploring options to bolster their attacking line, with Manchester City’s Savinho and Chelsea’s Pedro Neto emerging as potential targets, according to journalist Dave Davis on The Transfer Show. The club are seeking replacements following the departure of Mohamed Salah at the end of last season.
Liverpool’s initial pursuit of Yan Diomande has hit a snag, with the player now favouring a move to Paris Saint-Germain. A potential deal for Bradley Barcola is also facing difficulties, prompting the club to broaden their search. The Reds have reportedly held discussions with super-agent Jorge Mendes regarding a possible transfer for Neto, who joined Chelsea from Wolves for £51.6m two years ago.
Davis highlighted Neto’s strengths, noting his ability to carry the ball, quality passing, and dangerous crosses, citing statistics that place him in the 95th and 93rd percentile for cross expected threat and cross value added respectively. He also indicated that Neto would be receptive to a move to Anfield, having been a target for the club during his time at Wolves.
Interest in Savinho has also been confirmed, though Davis expressed reservations about the player’s overall contribution. While acknowledging Savinho’s exceptional ball-carrying abilities – ranking in the 99th percentile for progressive carries and field yards gained – Davis questioned his creativity and impact beyond dribbling, noting he has spent much of the season on Manchester City’s bench.
Despite the interest in both players, Davis cautioned that neither fully meets the standard Liverpool require. Liverpool were recently beaten to the signing of Bazoumana Traore by Newcastle United, further intensifying their search for attacking reinforcements. The club continues to explore alternative options, with reports also linking them to other forwards and midfielders.
