Liverpool are considering a move for Bournemouth winger Rayan as an alternative to RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande, while also competing with Manchester United for Juventus centre-back Gleison Bremer, according to recent reports. The club are seeking options to bolster their attack and defence ahead of next season.
Liverpool initially pursued Diomande, but Leipzig are reportedly keen to retain the Ivorian player for further development and to maximize his transfer value. This has prompted Liverpool to turn their attention to Rayan, who has impressed since joining Bournemouth in January, scoring five goals and providing two assists in 14 appearances. His performances have also earned him a call-up to the Brazil national squad.
Rayan’s release clause is set at €100m (£86m), matching Diomande’s valuation, potentially posing a significant financial hurdle for Liverpool. Despite being described as an ‘explosive’ talent, concerns have been raised regarding his limited experience at the highest level.
In addition to Rayan, Liverpool are also in contention with Manchester United for Bremer. United are reportedly preparing a €58m (£50m) offer for the Juventus defender, but Liverpool have entered the race. Juventus are attempting to secure Bremer’s future with a new contract, but the player is open to considering offers, particularly after potentially playing alongside Rayan at the World Cup.
Liverpool view Bremer as a potential long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk, while United are seeking a more reliable defensive option following injuries to Lisandro Martinez and Matthijs de Ligt. Further reports suggest Liverpool also maintain an interest in Chelsea defender Levi Colwill, though a move appears unlikely at this time, with Chelsea seemingly unwilling to sell. These moves signal a proactive approach by Liverpool as they aim to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.
