Manchester United have no plans to sell winger Amad Diallo this summer, despite interest from several clubs, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The Ivory Coast international, who recently featured in the 2026 World Cup, scored two goals and provided four assists in 33 appearances for United across all competitions last season.
Newcastle United, Brighton and Hove Albion, and AC Milan, managed by former United boss Ruben Amorim, have all reportedly expressed interest in acquiring Diallo. However, the club maintains its desire to retain the 24-year-old, who is under contract until 2030 with an option for a one-year extension. Romano reported on X that Diallo’s representatives were informed in June of United’s intention to keep him.
While Diallo’s future appears secure, United, under the ownership of INEOS, are in talks with Tottenham Hotspur regarding a move for 18-year-old winger Tynan Thompson. Thompson signed a professional contract with Tottenham in May 2025 and has featured on the bench for Champions League matches, though he is yet to make a senior debut. Sources indicate Hamburg are also interested in the talented winger.
The potential transfer of Thompson would be a formal deal, as his current contract with Tottenham runs until June 30, 2027, necessitating a transfer fee. Lilywhite Rose, a Tottenham academy-focused X account with over 130,000 followers, described the move as a “big loss for the academy,” highlighting Thompson’s outstanding performances over the past two seasons.
Separately, United have also expressed interest in Leicester City defender Ben Nelson, though the Foxes are seeking a £10million fee for the 22-year-old. Previous offers from Torino and Borussia Monchengladbach have been rejected, and West Ham are also monitoring the situation. The addition of Thompson would bolster United’s youth ranks, while retaining Diallo provides a proven attacking option for the upcoming season.
