Milan have entered the race to sign Atalanta midfielder Ederson, according to reports from Tuttosport. The Brazilian was previously a target for Manchester United, but the Premier League club have reportedly withdrawn their interest, leaving the door open for the Rossoneri.
Ederson, currently on holiday following Brazil’s elimination from the World Cup, has one year remaining on his contract with Atalanta, which runs until June 30, 2027. The Bergamo club have offered him a five-year contract extension following Manchester United’s withdrawal, but Ederson is taking time to consider the offer.
Milan manager Ruben Amorim is reportedly a strong admirer of the 30-year-old, having previously attempted to bring him to the Premier League during his time at Manchester. Milan have already begun discussions with Atalanta, with whom they maintain a positive relationship, and are also monitoring Ardon Jashari, a player previously of interest to Juventus’s Cristiano Giuntoli.
Juventus are also still monitoring the situation, but their interest is contingent on the potential sale of Khephren Thuram. Atalanta are known as tough negotiators, and satisfying their demands will be a challenge for both Milan and Juventus. The situation is further complicated by Atalanta’s recent sale of Teun Koopmeiners, demonstrating their willingness to sell key players at the right price.
Juventus are currently prioritizing player sales to generate funds for new signings under manager Luciano Spalletti, with Jeff Ekhator arriving as a potential loan candidate. Milan, meanwhile, are rebuilding under new coach Ruber Amorim following a disappointing season and have already secured the signings of Gonçalo Ramos from PSG and Mario Gila from Lazio.
