AC Milan have emerged as strong contenders to sign West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville this summer, according to TEAMtalk. The Italian club are considering a move for the 24-year-old as they prepare for a potential overhaul of their attacking options, with Tottenham and Aston Villa also previously linked with the player.
Summerville enjoyed a relatively successful individual campaign despite West Ham’s relegation from the Premier League, scoring five goals and providing two assists in his final 16 appearances. This form earned him a place in the Netherlands’ World Cup squad, though he is yet to earn a senior international cap. His performances have attracted attention from multiple clubs, both within and outside of England.
Milan’s interest stems from uncertainty surrounding the future of Rafael Leao, with the Portugal international reportedly informing the club of his desire to move on. Should Leao depart, the Rossoneri view Summerville as a leading candidate to fill the void, believing his pace, creativity, and ability to impact games in the final third would translate well to Serie A. The club’s recruitment staff also see significant potential for further development in the player.
West Ham are anticipating offers for Summerville following their relegation and are reportedly seeking around £35 million for the winger, a significant increase on the £25 million they originally paid for him. While the club haven’t made a final decision on his future, sources suggest they expect him to leave if a suitable offer is presented. The appointment of a new manager, currently progressing with former Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner, is separate from the ongoing recruitment planning led by the club’s owners, RedBird.
Summerville’s potential arrival at the San Siro could provide Milan with a dynamic attacking option as they look to rebuild and challenge for Serie A titles. For West Ham, his sale would represent a significant financial boost as they prepare for life in the Championship.
