Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Gabriel Moscardo is expected to be loaned out again next season, according to ESPN Brazil. The 20-year-old Brazilian arrived at the Parc des Princes in 2024 for a reported €20 million but has yet to make a competitive appearance for the first team.
Moscardo spent the 2023-24 season on loan at Braga in Portugal, where he featured in 39 matches, though only 12 of those were as a starter. This potential move would mark his fourth consecutive loan spell since joining PSG, having previously been loaned to Corinthians and Reims following his initial transfer.
The midfielder described signing for Luis Enrique’s side as “the most beautiful day of his life” but has found first-team opportunities limited. His current contract with PSG runs until 2028, and he remains without a single minute of action for the Parisian club.
ESPN Brazil reports that a return to Brazil is considered unlikely for Moscardo at this stage in his career. The loan is intended to provide the young player with consistent playing time and further development, something he has not consistently received since joining the French champions. This move suggests PSG are not yet convinced he is ready to contribute to the first team, but are keen to nurture his potential.
The situation highlights PSG’s strategy of acquiring young talent and developing them through loan spells before integrating them into the squad, or potentially selling them on for a profit. Moscardo’s future remains uncertain, but another loan move appears to be the most likely outcome for the 2024-25 season.
