Diant Ramaj is seeking a permanent transfer away from Borussia Dortmund this summer, hoping to secure a role as a first-choice goalkeeper, according to reports in Germany. The 24-year-old spent the 2023-24 season on loan at 1. FC Heidenheim and is now prepared to leave Signal Iduna Park permanently.
Bild newspaper reports that Ramaj is frustrated by his lack of opportunities in Dortmund and is prioritizing regular playing time. He currently sits behind Gregor Kobel in the goalkeeping hierarchy, limiting his prospects for first-team action with the Bundesliga giants. The club has reportedly indicated they are open to offers for the player.
Ramaj joined Dortmund in February 2025 from Ajax for a fee of €5 million, but has yet to make a competitive appearance for the Black and Yellows. Since his arrival, he has been loaned out to both FC Copenhagen and Heidenheim, gaining experience but failing to establish himself as a regular starter in the Bundesliga. He made 26 appearances for Heidenheim last season, conceding 44 goals and keeping 7 clean sheets.
Dortmund are reportedly looking for a transfer fee of around €7 million for Ramaj, representing a modest profit on the fee they paid to Ajax. Several clubs within the Bundesliga and across Europe are believed to be monitoring the situation, attracted by Ramaj’s age and potential. The goalkeeper’s representatives are actively exploring potential destinations that would guarantee him a starting position.
Should Ramaj depart, Dortmund will likely seek a capable backup goalkeeper to provide competition and cover for Kobel. The move would also free up space within the squad and potentially generate funds for other transfer targets. This transfer could provide Ramaj with the platform he needs to develop into a consistent Bundesliga performer.
