Tottenham Hotspur are considering another loan spell for winger Mikey Moore, with Rangers emerging as strong contenders to re-sign the England youth international, according to TEAMtalk. The Glasgow club are keen to bring the 18-year-old back to Ibrox for a second consecutive season following a successful campaign north of the border.
Moore enjoyed a breakthrough season with Rangers, making 47 appearances across all competitions and scoring seven goals, including one in the Old Firm derby. His performances earned him the Scottish Premiership’s Young Player of the Season award, and sources close to the player indicate he greatly enjoyed his time in Glasgow, forging strong relationships with teammates and even holidaying with them this summer.
While Moore is eager to continue his development with regular playing time, Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi believes the youngster is not yet ready for consistent Premier League minutes. De Zerbi prefers Moore to gain experience through a loan spell, allowing him to assess his progress before making a long-term decision regarding his future at Spurs. Tottenham have confirmed they are open to a temporary move, with Moore’s contract at the club running until 2030.
Rangers, now under the management of Derek McInnes, face competition from several English Championship clubs and teams across Europe for Moore’s signature. However, Rangers’ strong existing relationship with Moore’s agency, USG, and the positive experience Moore had at the club last season, position them favorably. The club also has midfielder Lyle Cameron represented by USG. A decision on Moore’s destination is expected within the coming week as Tottenham evaluate all available options.
A return to Rangers would offer Moore the continuity he desires, allowing him to build upon his previous success and further adapt to the demands of senior football. The prospect of regular game time at Ibrox remains a significant draw for the promising young winger.
