Marcus Rashford’s loan spell at Barcelona has concluded with the Catalan club opting not to trigger the €30 million buy option included in the agreement with Manchester United. Fabrizio Romano reported that while Barcelona remain interested in the forward, financial constraints regarding both the transfer fee and Rashford’s salary proved insurmountable. Manchester United are currently hesitant to sanction another loan deal, preferring to evaluate Rashford’s future under manager Michael Carrick and explore other opportunities, though a release clause of £40 million exists for most clubs excluding Manchester City and Liverpool.
Manchester United are also tracking West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville, identified as a potential replacement for Rashford. United inquired about Summerville during discussions with West Ham regarding Mateus Fernandes, while Paris Saint-Germain also expressed interest following a recent assessment of their squad, potentially as cover should Bradley Barcola depart. Several other Premier League clubs are also monitoring the Dutch international.
Real Madrid continue their busy transfer window, officially securing the signings of Antonio Rüdiger and Bernardo Silva. Rüdiger has signed a contract extension until 2027 after reaching an agreement some time ago, and is eager to work under new manager Jose Mourinho. Bernardo Silva’s move from Manchester City is also complete, with all documentation finalized after a verbal agreement was reached, though the official announcement is pending. The club has also added Sami Khedira to the coaching staff, alongside players Denzel Dumfries, Ibrahima Konate, and Marc Cucurella.
Nico Paz, currently on loan at Como, is keen to remain with the Serie A club for another season, prioritizing Champions League football and regular playing time. While not a rejection of Real Madrid, Paz seeks a consistent role that may not be guaranteed in the crowded Bernabeu squad. Negotiations are ongoing, with Real Madrid holding buy-back clauses for both this summer and next.
Tottenham Hotspur are actively pursuing Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United, with the player reportedly enthusiastic about the move and a strong connection with manager Roberto De Zerbi, both hailing from Brescia. Negotiations with Newcastle are expected to be challenging, with an initial asking price potentially exceeding €100 million. Spurs are also in talks for Manchester City winger Savinho and are closing in on a deal for Brighton centre-back Jan Paul van Hecke, a reunion with De Zerbi.
Finally, Arsenal are monitoring Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott, considering him a potential addition to their midfield. Bournemouth are attempting to retain Scott by offering a new contract with a release clause, but Arsenal are evaluating their options and believe Scott possesses significant talent.
