Rangers midfielder Nicolas Raskin has informed the club of his desire to leave Ibrox this summer, according to TEAMtalk. The 25-year-old Belgium international is seeking a move to a higher level after an impressive spell in Glasgow, where he has become a key figure in midfield.
Raskin joined Rangers from Standard Liège in January 2023 for a reported £1.5 million and has since made 145 appearances for the club. His versatility and energetic performances have made him a standout player, and he has also featured prominently for the Belgian national team, currently participating with them at the 2026 World Cup.
Italian Serie A side Atalanta have emerged as frontrunners for Raskin’s signature, having made contact with his representatives in the past month. This interest follows Atalanta’s recent sale of Ederson to Manchester United for £38.4 million, leaving them in a position to bolster their midfield under new manager Maurizio Sarri.
However, Atalanta face competition from several other clubs. Multiple Premier League sides, including Tottenham Hotspur, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Crystal Palace, West Ham United, Leeds United, Aston Villa, and Brighton, have all scouted Raskin over the last 18 months. Interest also extends to European clubs such as Porto, Real Betis, and Besiktas, who have previously made enquiries.
Rangers are believed to value Raskin at around £20 million and are keen to secure a substantial fee for his departure, given his contract runs until 2028. While no formal bids have been received yet, speculation is intensifying, and the club anticipates offers this summer. The potential sale represents a financial opportunity for Rangers as new manager Derek McInnes looks to reshape the squad.
Raskin’s recent performance for Belgium in a 1-1 draw against Egypt is expected to further enhance his profile and potentially increase his market value. The club and supporters are now preparing for a summer of uncertainty surrounding one of their key assets.
