Real Madrid have been among the most active clubs on the first day of the 2026 summer transfer window, completing several significant deals as Jose Mourinho looks to strengthen his squad for a Champions League push. The club confirmed the signing of Inter Milan right-back Denzel Dumfries for a fee of €20 million.
Dumfries, 28, arrives at the Santiago Bernabéu after a successful spell in Italy, where he established himself as a key player for Inter. The Netherlands international provides experience and attacking impetus from the full-back position, addressing a perceived need for depth in that area of the Real Madrid squad. He made 35 appearances for Inter last season, contributing 5 assists.
Beyond Dumfries, Real Madrid have also added Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva, and Ibrahima Konate to their ranks. The acquisition of Bernardo Silva, a long-term target for many top European clubs, represents a significant coup for Mourinho. Silva, a versatile midfielder, brings a wealth of experience and technical ability to the Spanish capital. Konate’s arrival bolsters the defensive options.
Barcelona have also made a major move, securing the services of Newcastle United forward Anthony Gordon for a substantial fee of €80 million. This represents a significant investment in attacking talent for the Catalan club as they aim to challenge for La Liga and European honours. Bayern Munich have completed a deal for Nathaniel Brown from Eintracht Frankfurt, strengthening their full-back options.
Elsewhere, Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly close to signing RB Leipzig starlet Yan Diomande, despite interest from Liverpool. Liverpool, however, have been proactive in other areas, bringing in Victor Munoz and Jeremy Jacquet. Tottenham Hotspur have been the busiest club so far, with Mateus Fernandes, Jan Paul van Hecke, Andrew Robertson, Marcos Senesi, and Martin Dubravka all joining, with Sandro Tonali expected to follow. Manchester City have broken their club record to sign Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest and have also secured Jeremy Monga, hijacking a deal previously agreed with Arsenal.
Chelsea have also been busy, completing deals for Marco Palestra, Geovany Quenda, Emmanuel Emegha, Dastan Satpaev, and Denner, with Maxence Lacroix and Pep Chavarria also linked with moves to Stamford Bridge.
