AS Roma are targeting Marseille forward Mason Greenwood as part of a significant summer investment following Champions League qualification, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. The Italian club are prepared to spend up to €100 million on new signings, with Greenwood identified as a key target alongside RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa.
Initial contact has already been made with Greenwood, who is expected to leave Marseille this summer. Manchester United would be due to receive half of any profit Marseille make on the sale of the player. Greenwood has been with Marseille since September 2023, scoring 12 goals in 34 appearances across all competitions, rebuilding his career after a period away from the game.
Elsewhere, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are preparing an “aggressive” move for Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, as reported by TEAMtalk. Alvarez has reportedly informed Atletico through his representatives of his desire to leave, with Diego Simeone hinting at a potential departure on Sunday. While Barcelona is Alvarez’s preferred destination, financial constraints may open the door for Arsenal or PSG to secure his signature.
Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez is also expected to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, according to Si Phillips. Fernandez appeared to bid farewell to supporters during Sunday’s match against Sunderland. While Chelsea won’t allow the Argentine to depart cheaply, potential suitors include Real Madrid, with exploratory talks also having taken place with Manchester City, where former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is now in charge.
Liverpool have also entered the race for Hertha BSC wonderkid Kennet Eichhorn, according to Sky Germany. The 16-year-old has a release clause of €12 million and has attracted interest from several major clubs. However, any move to the Premier League would have to wait until Eichhorn turns 18 next summer. Manchester United are also reportedly interested in Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, but Fabrizio Romano states that a deal is “very complicated” due to the player’s importance to the Spanish club and his high salary.
