Sassuolo are leading the race to sign Mattia Liberali from Catanzaro, with a release clause of just €6 million potentially facilitating the move, according to reports in Italy. The Neroverdi are reportedly keen to reunite Liberali with manager Alberto Aquilani, with whom he previously worked.
Liberali, a creative midfielder, has impressed in Serie B with Catanzaro, attracting attention from several Serie A clubs. Bologna, Como, and Cagliari have all expressed interest in the 24-year-old, while Juventus monitored him during the recent playoffs. AC Milan, who developed Liberali, will receive 50% of any transfer fee.
Elsewhere in Italy, Monza are searching for a new manager after Paolo Bianco resigned, with Paolo Vanoli and Marco Baroni emerging as early candidates. Monza’s pursuit of Echeverri represents a significant investment as they aim to build on their recent promotion.
Roma are potentially facing a significant sale as Borussia Dortmund have shown interest in forward Luka Soulè. The German club would need to meet a €40 million valuation to secure the Argentinian’s signature. Roma are also working to secure the futures of key players, with contract renewals for Gianluca Mancini (to 2029 with an option for 2030), Paulo Dybala (to 2028), and Lorenzo Pellegrini (to 2028 with an option for 2029) nearing completion. Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini is keen to retain defender Celik, while Genoa have reached an agreement with Roma for the permanent transfer of Tommaso Baldanzi for €8 million.
Finally, Genoa and Cyril Ekuban have reached an impasse in contract negotiations, with the striker set to leave the club despite being offered a two-year extension. Frosinone are in advanced talks to re-sign Riccardo Raimondo on loan from Bologna.
