Stuttgart Not Targeting Chuki Despite Scouting Links
VfB Stuttgart are not pursuing a summer move for Real Valladolid playmaker Chuki, according to a report from BILD. The Bundesliga club's scouts are aware of the 21-year-old, but the club's management currently sees no need to strengthen the attacking midfield position.
According to the report, Stuttgart's scouting department has been monitoring the Segunda División, where Chuki has been a standout performer for Valladolid. The 21-year-old has contributed seven goals and seven assists in 30 appearances this season, attracting attention from several clubs.
However, internal discussions at Stuttgart have concluded that the squad is already well-stocked in the number ten position. The primary factor is the permanent signing of Moroccan international Bilal El Khannouss. His loan from KRC Genk includes a purchase obligation clause, and Stuttgart view him as their long-term solution in the number 10 role.
Furthermore, the club is satisfied with its existing depth. The emergence of Nikolas Nartey, coupled with the versatility of established attackers like Chris Führich and Deniz Undav, provides manager Sebastian Hoeneß with ample options in the attacking midfield and forward roles. The club's hierarchy believes the current squad provides sufficient cover and quality, making a move for a player like Chuki, who is under contract with Valladolid until 2026, an unnecessary expenditure.
Chuki, whose full name is César de la Hoz Millán, has been a rare bright spot in a difficult season for Valladolid, who currently sit in the lower half of the Spanish second division. His performances have not gone unnoticed, but a move to the Bundesliga, and Stuttgart in particular, appears off the table for the upcoming transfer window. Stuttgart's focus is now expected to shift to other areas of the squad, with defensive reinforcements thought to be a higher priority.
