Tottenham Hotspur have expressed interest in Como midfielder Martin Baturina, according to reports from Croatian newspaper 24 Sata, as cited by Sport Witness. The 23-year-old playmaker, who impressed at the World Cup with a goal against England, is also attracting attention from Aston Villa.
Spurs have already enjoyed a busy summer transfer window under manager Roberto De Zerbi, bringing in Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali for a combined £185 million. The club has also strengthened its defence with the free transfers of Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, and Martin Dubravka, alongside a £52 million deal for Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton. De Zerbi is now focused on bolstering his attacking options.
Como are reportedly demanding a fee of €80 million (£68 million) for Baturina, who primarily plays as a number ten but is also capable of operating on the left wing. A previous bid of €55 million (£47 million) from an unnamed Premier League club was rejected. Baturina is seen as a key figure in Croatia’s future and could be a valuable addition to Tottenham’s squad.
Tottenham are also pursuing other attacking targets, including Bournemouth striker Eli Junior Kroupi, with a potential £75 million bid being prepared. They are also considering moves for Cody Gakpo of Liverpool, Rafael Leao of AC Milan, and Savinho of Manchester City. Rafael Leao has reportedly indicated his willingness to join Spurs, with Milan seeking around €50 million (£43 million) for the Portuguese winger. The arrival of Baturina, Kroupi, or Leao would further enhance De Zerbi’s options as he looks to build a competitive squad for the upcoming season.
