Dušan Vlahović is postponing a contract extension with Juventus as he awaits potential offers from top European clubs, including Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. The Serbian striker’s current deal with the Serie A side is set to expire this summer, creating uncertainty over his future in Turin.
Vlahović has previously been linked with a move to Bayern Munich, but a transfer has not yet materialized. However, the Bundesliga champions are now reportedly considering the 24-year-old as a potential backup and rotational option for Harry Kane, with Nicolas Jackson’s loan spell from Chelsea due to conclude at the end of the season. Bayern’s need for depth in attack could make Vlahović an appealing target.
FC Barcelona are also monitoring the forward market, and Vlahović is said to be on their list of potential targets. The Spanish club’s interest adds another layer of complexity to the situation, potentially driving up his value and creating a bidding war. Barcelona have been active in seeking attacking reinforcements, and Vlahović’s profile could align with their needs.
Vlahović joined Juventus from Fiorentina in January 2022 for a reported €85 million, becoming a key player in their attack. He has scored seven goals in 20 appearances for Juventus this season, demonstrating his continued goal-scoring ability despite the club’s overall struggles. Prior to his move to Juventus, Vlahović established himself as one of Serie A’s most promising young strikers at Fiorentina, attracting attention from several of Europe’s elite clubs.
The situation leaves Juventus in a precarious position, potentially losing a valuable asset on a free transfer if no agreement can be reached. The club are reportedly continuing renewal talks, but Vlahović’s hesitation suggests he is holding out for a more lucrative or prestigious opportunity. Should he depart, Juventus will need to find a suitable replacement to bolster their attacking options. A move to either Bayern or Barcelona would provide Vlahović with the platform to compete at the highest level of European football.
