Chelsea are preparing for a significant squad overhaul this summer, with at least six players expected to be sold, potentially raising £241 million, according to reports from The Athletic. Manager Xabi Alonso is actively planning for the future, having already secured the arrivals of Geovany Quenda, Emmanuel Emegha, Valentin Barco, and Dastan Satpaev.
Marc Cucurella has already completed a €60 million (£52m) move to Real Madrid after reportedly becoming frustrated with the club’s focus on youth development. His departure signals a willingness from Chelsea to reshape the squad more quickly than initially anticipated. Enzo Fernandez is also attracting interest from the Bernabeu, with Jose Mourinho reportedly keen to add the Argentine midfielder to his ranks.
Chelsea are reportedly ‘prepared to sell’ Fernandez for a substantial fee of £120m. Liam Delap and Marc Guiu are also considered surplus to requirements, with the club seeking £40m and €25m (£21.5m) respectively for the young strikers. While Delap has struggled to make an impact, Chelsea believe Guiu possesses significant potential and could be sold either permanently or on loan. Despite interest from Barcelona, Joao Pedro will remain at Stamford Bridge.
Axel Disasi, who recently returned from a loan spell at West Ham United, is available for £20m, while goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen is valued at £15m. Tyrique George’s future is also uncertain, with Chelsea willing to consider bids if Everton do not activate their £25m option to buy. Several other players, including Caleb Wiley, Kendry Paez, Deivid Washington, Gabriel Slonina, and David Datro Fofana, are expected to be loaned out or sold permanently.
Chelsea have received multiple enquiries for Trevoh Chalobah, but are currently ‘in no rush’ to sell the defender, who is ‘highly regarded’ by Alonso. The manager is prioritizing the addition of a centre-back and a versatile attacker, with Crystal Palace’s Maxence Lacroix and Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers identified as potential targets. Rogers is expected to cost between £80-100m, and Chelsea will face competition from Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain for his signature.
