Aston Villa have made initial contact regarding potential moves for Pervis Estupinan of AC Milan and Newcastle United’s Dan Burn, according to reports, as they prepare for the possible departure of Lucas Digne to Paris Saint-Germain.
The transfer of Digne to PSG is reportedly agreed, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano, with claims a release clause, potentially below £10million, will be triggered. This would leave a void at left-back for Unai Emery’s side, who finished fourth in the Premier League and won the Europa League last season but are currently navigating financial regulations.
Matteo Moretto reports that Villa have enquired about Estupinan, who previously played for Brighton & Hove Albion. While no official offers have been submitted, contacts have been made to assess the feasibility of a deal, with Milan reportedly open to considering offers for the Ecuadorian international.
Burn has also emerged as a potential option, with Dutchie Bowen reporting Villa’s interest. However, a move for the Newcastle defender is currently contingent on the future of Ezri Konsa, who has been linked with Arsenal. The Gunners are reportedly unwilling to meet Villa’s £50million valuation of Konsa, potentially complicating any deal for Burn, who may also be reluctant to leave his hometown club.
Villa have already secured the signing of Johan Manzambi, but are facing departures with Youri Tielemans moving to Manchester United. Securing a replacement for Digne is now a priority, and the club is exploring both Estupinan and Burn as potential solutions. The arrival of either player would provide Emery with further defensive options as Villa prepare for a challenging season balancing Premier League and European commitments.
