Alessandro Bastoni will remain at Inter Milan, his agent Tullio Tinti has confirmed, ending speculation linking the defender with a move away from the Serie A club. Tinti stated that Bastoni is happy at Inter and has a strong connection to the club, effectively dismissing interest from other teams.
Tinti was speaking after a visit to Inter’s headquarters, explaining the meeting was primarily a social call to Beppe Marotta, who previously managed Tinti when he captained Varese. However, questions regarding Bastoni’s future were unavoidable, prompting the agent’s firm declaration of his client’s commitment. Bastoni currently has two years remaining on his contract with the Nerazzurri.
The 25-year-old has become a key figure in Inter’s defense since joining from Atalanta in 2017, initially on loan before making the move permanent. He played a crucial role in Inter’s Serie A title win in 2021 under Antonio Conte, forming a formidable defensive partnership. Last season, Bastoni made 33 appearances in Serie A, helping Inter secure Champions League qualification.
Tinti acknowledged that several top clubs have expressed interest in Bastoni, but emphasized the player’s contentment in Milan. He also alluded to past difficulties, suggesting Bastoni has overcome challenges with a strong mental fortitude and is now “super content” at the club, describing Inter as “his home.” The agent downplayed any previous concerns about Bastoni’s future, stating there was never a real problem.
Bastoni’s continued presence provides stability to Inter’s backline as they prepare for next season, and reinforces their ambition to challenge for domestic and European honors. The club will be looking to build on their Champions League qualification and mount a stronger title challenge in the upcoming campaign.
