Inter Milan are progressing rapidly towards the signing of Jean-Kevin Solet from Udinese, with the aim of completing the deal before the start of their pre-season training camp. According to reports from Italy, Inter’s sporting director Piero Ausilio promised coach Cristian Chivu a new central defender would arrive by the first day of training, and has been actively pursuing Solet.
Discussions have taken place with both Udinese officials and Solet’s representatives. Inter initially offered between €15-17 million plus bonuses for the 23-year-old, while Udinese are reportedly seeking around €25 million for the player. Sources suggest a deal could be reached for €20 million plus bonuses if both clubs compromise.
Solet’s contract with Udinese is currently valid until 2027, though the club have the option to extend it by a further year. He has reportedly made it clear to his agents that his preferred destination is Inter. Negotiations between Inter and Solet’s representatives have focused on personal terms, with an agreement reached on a contract worth €2 million per season until 2031.
Inter are also exploring options to strengthen their goalkeeping department, with Lazio’s Ivan Provedel emerging as a potential target. Following the promotion of goalkeeper Pepo Martinez, Inter are seeking an experienced backup and have identified the 39-year-old Provedel as a suitable candidate. Lazio are asking for €5 million for Provedel, but Inter are hoping to secure him for a fee between €2-3 million. Provedel is known for his unusual ability to score goals, having netted a header against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
The potential arrival of Solet would provide Inter with much-needed depth in central defense, complementing their existing options. Securing Provedel would offer a reliable backup to Martinez, ensuring stability in the goalkeeping position.
