Brighton & Hove Albion are reportedly interested in signing Jakub Kamiński from 1. FC Köln, with the Polish international admitting a move to the Premier League would be a dream come true. The 23-year-old attacker only recently completed a permanent transfer to Köln from VfL Wolfsburg after the Bundesliga club activated a €5.5 million purchase option, but could be on the move again this summer.
Speaking to Kanał Sportowy, Kamiński stated he is open to a transfer if the opportunity presents itself, emphasizing his desire to play in England’s top flight. “It will depend on what options there are, whether I’m satisfied with them, whether it will be a step forward for me,” he said. “At the moment I’m a Köln player, I still have four years left on my contract. If there is a chance to move forward, then it’s natural that every footballer wants to take that step.”
According to Bild, Brighton could trigger Kamiński’s reported €20 million release clause. The player himself highlighted the Premier League’s appeal, stating it is “the best league in the world” and a competition he is eager to test himself in. He previously expressed a desire to play in the Bundesliga, having featured in 104 matches and four seasons in the German top flight.
Kamiński enjoyed a productive 2025/26 season with Köln, establishing himself as a key player for the club. He scored seven goals and provided five assists in 34 Bundesliga appearances, showcasing his versatility as an attacker. His performances have drawn the attention of several clubs, with Brighton emerging as a frontrunner for his signature.
Brighton’s interest in Kamiński suggests they are looking to bolster their attacking options ahead of the next campaign, potentially adding depth and competition to their forward line. The Polish international’s arrival would provide manager Roberto De Zerbi with another dynamic option in attack, capable of playing in multiple positions.
