Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez is the subject of strong interest from Real Madrid, with reports in Spain suggesting a potential move could materialize as early as the summer of 2026. According to sources cited by TEAMtalk, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is personally driving the pursuit of the Argentina international.
Spanish journalist Miguel Serrano claimed on his YouTube channel that an agreement is already in place between Real Madrid and Fernandez, including his agent Javier Pastore, though a deal with Chelsea remains outstanding. Serrano indicated the transfer’s success hinges on financial negotiations, with Chelsea reportedly seeking a fee of €138 million (£119.2m, $159m) for the 25-year-old.
Fernandez, who won the 2022 World Cup and the 2024 Copa America with Argentina, joined Chelsea in January 2023 for a club-record fee. He has since become a key figure in the Blues’ midfield, making 39 appearances across all competitions in the recently concluded season. His performances have clearly attracted the attention of one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Real Madrid are reportedly considering a ‘player-plus-cash’ deal to entice Chelsea to sell. TEAMtalk’s transfer insider, Graeme Bailey, reports that Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga are potential candidates to be included in such an offer, alongside youngsters Jacobo Ramon and Chema Andres, who currently have loan spells at Como and VfB Stuttgart respectively. Real Madrid possess buy-back clauses in both Ramon and Andres’ contracts, which could facilitate their inclusion in a deal. Should Fernandez arrive at the Bernabeu, he would add further quality to an already formidable midfield, potentially solidifying Real Madrid’s dominance in both La Liga and the Champions League.
