Juventus are encountering difficulties in their attempt to sign forward Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain, with the clubs remaining far apart on a transfer fee. Juventus CEO Giovanni Carnevali stated that a deal hinges on PSG lowering their demands, which he described as exceeding 45 million euros. According to Carnevali, Juventus are prepared to pursue alternative targets if an agreement cannot be reached.
Carnevali, who recently joined Juventus after a long tenure at Sassuolo, described his first weeks at the club as “intense and fascinating.” He emphasized his commitment to building something significant at Juventus, acknowledging the difficulty of leaving Sassuolo but stating that an offer from Juventus was impossible to refuse. He also highlighted the importance of the relationship with the club’s ownership.
The Juventus CEO also addressed other potential transfer targets, definitively ruling out a move for Inter midfielder Davide Frattesi. While praising Frattesi as an “extraordinary player,” Carnevali indicated that Juventus are already well-stocked in that position and do not require further reinforcement. This suggests Juventus are prioritizing strengthening other areas of the squad.
Carnevali also outlined plans to restructure the club’s internal organization, confirming the addition of Massara as a new director who will work alongside Marco Ottolini. He also indicated that the club will be addressing the scouting department in the near future. He praised current manager Luciano Spalletti, describing him as one of the best coaches in the game, consistently achieving positive results and developing his teams.
The situation with Kolo Muani reflects the challenges Juventus face in the transfer market despite Carnevali’s arrival. The club’s financial situation and competition from other European giants are likely contributing factors to the difficulties in securing key targets. A failure to land Kolo Muani could force Juventus to recalibrate their attacking plans and focus on more affordable options.
