1.FC Köln have expressed strong interest in Inter Milan forward Jamal Iddrissou, according to Sky Italia. The Bundesliga club have submitted an inquiry for a loan with an option to buy the 18-year-old Italian, though their initial offer has been rebuffed by the Nerazzurri.
Inter Milan are hesitant to part with Iddrissou permanently, valuing the young forward’s potential and wishing to retain future access to his services. The club’s preference is for a loan agreement that includes a buy-back clause, reportedly set at €15million in 2027 or escalating to €18million in 2028. This would allow Inter to potentially re-sign Iddrissou should he flourish during his time with Köln.
Idrissou has progressed through the youth ranks at AC Milan before joining Inter, demonstrating a consistent ability to find the net. He is described as a physically imposing, right-footed forward, seeking regular first-team football to further his development. The player is currently a member of the Italian under-19 national team.
While Köln are currently leading the chase, they face competition from other clubs also monitoring Iddrissou’s situation. Recently relegated VfL Wolfsburg and Premier League side Brentford have both reportedly registered their interest in the player. The differing transfer models proposed by each club could prove decisive in determining Iddrissou’s next destination. It remains unclear whether Köln will accept Inter’s demands for a buy-back clause, potentially opening the door for Wolfsburg or Brentford to make a more appealing offer.
Securing Iddrissou would provide Köln with an exciting attacking option as they prepare for the upcoming Bundesliga season, while a successful loan spell could significantly increase the player’s market value and set the stage for a prominent role at Inter in the future.
